PMA Global Opportunities Award

The PMA Global Opportunities Award is given to students participating in a Western University international experience or study abroad program for which academic credit or approval from their department or faculty will be obtained. Four students received this award in the 2017-2018 academic year.

Here is what two of them have to say.

Julia Tucciarone

Professional and Managerial Association Global Opportunities Award Recipient for 2017-2018

Dear Donor,

I would like to thank you very much for your generous donation and the opportunity that it has given me. I am very excited to be able to participate in an archaeological field school in Italy this summer, and your support through this donation is what made this possible for me. I am very excited to embark on this journey in my personal and academic career, and I know this month immersed in Italian culture and in archaeological excavation will complement so many aspect of my studies as an anthropology student. I look forward to learning more about archaeology, learning a new language, trying new food, and traveling, all of which would not be possible without you.

Thank you again,

Sincerely,

Julia Tucciarone

Samantha Andison

Professional and Managerial Association Global Opportunities Award Recipient for 2017-2018

Dear Donor,

My name is Samantha Andison, and I have been privileged to receive the scholarship you donated to the Global Exchange program in support of my exchange to the University of Copenhagen next year. Your generosity has made my dream of attending a European university all the more possible.

I am currently a second-year political science student with an aspiration to attend law school and one day specialize in international law. I am extremely passionate about environmental politics and am fascinated by public policy and every day life in the Scandinavian countries. I am also an enthusiastic traveler and an aspiring foodie interested in sustainable travel and cuisine, which are emphasized in Danish life. Together, these elements of the country of Denmark are what made me want to apply to exchange at the University of Copenhagen. I am also so excited to gain fresh international perspectives from my professors and peers while on exchange and experience a new culture and city unlike any we can find here in Canada. Thank you so much for your kindness in donating this award. I am very appreciative of your generosity and excited for the year to come.

Sincerely,

Samantha Andison
