Annual General Meeting

Voting is now closed for the 39th PMA Annual General Meeting.

Thank you for voting! Results and minutes will be posted soon.

We will be holding a virtual AGM this year instead of an in-person event. In order to accommodate members working from home with small children, or who live in rural communities who may have internet bandwidth limitations, the executive has decided that the 2020 AGM will be held asynchronously in order to allow access for all current PMA members.

What does this mean?

Instead of hosting a live Zoom AGM, we will be uploading all reports to this web page, and adding a short video that can be read/watched at a time which is convenient for you.

  • Nominations for the executive are now closed.
  • Nominations for the Nancy Kendall Award are now closed.
  • All reports, the slate of officers and budget will be posted HERE on May 19 (an email will follow) to give members time to review.
  • Any questions can be submitted by email or in the embedded form, up until May 25 and will be included in the official minutes
  • Members will be contacted on May 29 to vote on the slate of officers, reports and budget (voting will be open for 72 hours)

If you have questions about joining one of our committees or the executive, please contact our nomination committee co-chairs, Leslie Gloor Duncan (lgloor@uwo.ca) and Tea Hadwen (thadwen2@uwo.ca).

What about lunch?

This year, as we will not be having a lunch, and had to cancel a number of in-person events as a result of COVID-19, we have an amount of unused funds that would have paid for catering at these events. Our Professional Development and Membership Engagement committees are pivoting plans to bring learning opportunities to our members in new ways in the coming months. In light of the unused funds which had been earmarked for in-person events, the PMA executive has put forward a motion to our members to donate $10,000 to the Western Student Relief fund

In response to COVID-19 Western established the Student Relief Fund to provide critical resources to those students who find themselves with urgent expenses related to travel, access to technology, health and wellness and other unforeseen circumstances. The PMA executive felt that allocating our unused catering funding for this purpose echoes the values of our membership, as valued leaders within the university who support student success.

Motion to Donate $10,000 to the Western Student Relief Fund

As this donation was not included in our 2019-2020 budget, it requires a vote from our membership. We are asking you to vote NOW instead of waiting until the AGM, as the funds are currently in our account, over 5,000 students have applied to this program, the need is great, and we can help now.

The voting is now closed on this motion.
