It’s a great Western benefit – $2,000 in Flex Credits for you to spend in 2024. The deadline to make your decision on how to allocate those funds is November 30, 2023. The Flex Credits can be used to increase your Health Care Spending Account or you can use your Flex Credits in a Professional Expense Reimbursement Account.

A Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) can be used to pay for many medical and dental expenses that are not covered or only partially covered by your Extended Health and Dental plans.

The Professional Expense Reimbursement Account (PER) can be used to pay for items such as conference registrations, conference travel and accommodation, to purchase a computer or software, and for other expenses.

Please note: If you do not make your Flex Credit allocations by November 30, 2023, you will still receive the $2,000 credit, but the entire amount will be allocated to your PER.

If you’re ready to allocate your Flex Credits, you can do so now by logging on to “My Human Resources”. Under “My To Do List” at the top of the page, you will see “Flex Credit Allocation”. By selecting this, you may view elections from past years and make your 2024 elections.
